I can't even begin to list the things that are wrong with this synposis. Or the scenarios I would have to find myself in before reading it is an option.

I was kind of thinking hey this could be okay until it got to "when it is discovered that Brendan has supernatural powers!"

supernatural powers are the worst cure-all imaginable.
the "then it is discovered" bit makes it even more concerning.
