Tell me honestly...

When to blazes is everyone finding time to read so much?
I have barely started a book I received a fortnight ago and am thoroughly enjoying!
I think I have too many commitments. I need to shed something. I used to find hours and hours each week. I used to finish books in a sitting. (The first time ever, for any book of length, was Roald Dahl's Matilda. Don't know how old I was but I just devoured it!). But now... now I can barely find five minutes!
So tell me... when are you stealing five minutes?

I have had a sudden voracious appetite recently. Unfortunately I have also noticed that my ability to sit on the couch for almost entire Sundays to polish off a book is inversely proportional to my willingness to go to the gym three times a week like I'm bloody supposed to. So I suppose you can't win.

Maybe that's it. I'm going to the gym and exercising heaps (vomit).

The law of inverse proportion. I can run with that.

oh and my boyfriend has pretty much comandeered the remote control so i read during the shows i'm not very interested in.

I can read and tune out the tv at same time. And what he's saying too, sadly, so the running conversation is like:

mike: "blah blah blah blah"

pause

me: "huh, I'm sorry, what?"

mike: "don't worry"

Is that domestic bliss?

Yeah it probably is. Though at your age you guys shouldn't even be at home on the couch watching tele.
You're meant to be either out and about or at home but otherwise engaged.
Nannas.
If you can tell me the name of the chief super-intendent on The Bill then your life is already over.

I'm sorry, I tuned out, all I heard was you saying "blah blah blah blah".

Personally I used to do half my reading in a (very hot) bath, though this did result in one or two tragedies and some hefty library fines. Now I'm bath-free so it's a bit harder to find time, what with my incredibly hectic social life that certainly doesn't involve playing an RPG against my boyfriend. Not at all.

I don't have an excuse. Except that I'm an alcoholic and I keep having to re-read parts I was to pissed to remember.

I know what you mean. A friend and I started a competition to read as many 200+ books as we could. She is already at 35 for the year and I am straggling behind at 22! I have seen and heard that other people have read anywhere from 40-80 books this year alone! I figure they must not have jobs, that makes me feel better : )
